From November 19, 2016, Kalafina started promoting their to-be-released Winter Acoustic Kalafina with Strings album, with 2 commemorative mini lives, and a Live Tour of 12 concerts called Kalafina with Strings Christmas Premium LIVE 2016, between November 30 and December 24, 2016, the first of which was FJC exclusive. Kalafina closed 2017 by attending COUNTDOWN JAPAN 16/17.

On January 1, 2017 Kalafina started the year by announcing that the group will move, along with 14 other artists, from SME to a new sub-label of SonyMusic, called SACRA MUSIC which would start its business from April 4, 2017. The new label is promising to focus into the artists activity outside of Japan.
Kalafina’s 2017 lives started with 2 FJC Members exclusive「Kalafina 9th Anniversary LIVE 2017」 concerts on January 22-23, 2017, at Tokyo‘s TSUTAYA O-EAST, and by participating at the yearly Lisani! Between April 15 and June 17, 2017 the group started an new Live Tour titled「Kalafina “9+ONE”」 with 13 concerts in 10 japanese cities. According to the announcement, the tour was decided to thank the customers who supported the group for 9 continious years, on the way to plus the +1 year that would lead to the 10 years anniversary on 2018. Later on were added in the same tour, two concerts in Taiwan (July 15 + 16), and one in Hong Kong (July 29). On January 23, 2018, Kalafina did their Kalafina 10th Anniversary Live at Nippon Budokan, which included songs voted by fans which resulted in a great setlist with many under-performed b-side songs. The songs were performed with the accompaniment of FBM, Hitoshi Konno strings, Accordion, Percussion, and Flute.

After their 10th Anniversary live on January 23, 2018, Kajiura announced the breaking news on her twitter ( 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5) what was rumoured by some online articles for about 2 months that Yuki Kajiura is leaving Spacecraft produce, after more than 20 years working with them, due to quarrel with some new Spacecraft executives. She also quited as Kalafina’s producer. She said she was planning to stay independent, and that FictionJunction Club would shut down.

Following these news, a Harmony fanclub email stated that a Kalafina member would quit the group – later it was announced that this member was Keiko Kubota, who couldnt stay Kalafina without Kajiura and decided to follow her. Keiko also filled an application for the “Kalafina” trademark ownership, that still has to be resolved. It was also announced that Wakana and Hikaru would continue on the group.

Despite saying that, for the following months, Wakana and Hikaru both announced solo activities: Hikaru announced “Hikaru Birthday EVENT 2018” in July 31, 2018 at Tokyo Suntory Hall Blue Rose Hall, and Wakana: Kalafina “Wakana” in Concert with the Roma・Italia Orchestra in August 11, 2018 at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in which event she also announced a solo tour “Wakana Live Tour 2018 – Beyond Time” for September 2018. In these where they performed mainly Kalafina songs and some others.

On November 2, 2018, Hikaru also announced that she quits Kalafina and Spacecraft, leaving Wakana as the sole momber, who then focused in her non-Kajiura solo career.

On March 13, 2019, Spacecraft officially announced that its disbanding Kalafina.

Later on, on April 2020, Keiko also announced she is going solo .
