子供の頃に置いてきた
夢を思い出した
若草色の哀しみを
細く甘く歌う
my fairy tale
Kodomo no koro ni oitekita
yume wo omoidashita
wakakusairo no kanashimi wo
hosoku amaku utau
my fairytale
I remembered the dream
that I had in my childhood
Singing thinly and sweetly
of my sorrows colored like young herbs
my fairytale
何も終わることのない
永遠を知っていた
もう誰も語らない
二人の物語
Nanimo owaru koto no nai
eien wo shitteita
mou daremo kataranai
futari no monogatari
I knew an eternity
where nothing would ever end
nobody tells the story
of the two of us anymore
キスを一つ残して
君は何処へ行く
灯火一つ抱いて
森に消えて行く
in the dark
KISSU wo hitotsu nokoshite (santida)
Kimi wa doko e yuku (stordiya)
tomoshibi hitotsu daite (santida)
mori ni kieteyuku
In the dark
where are you going to (santida)
leaving me one kiss? (stordiya)
bearing only a lamp (santida)
and disappearing into the forest
in the dark
ずっと遠くへ歩いてく
懐かしい面影
ずっと遠くが君の家
辿り着けはしない
your fairy tale
Zutto tooku e aruiteku (aruiteku)
natsukashii omokage (omokage)
zutto tooku ga kimi no ie
tadoritsuke wa shinai
your fairytale
Your dear face
is walking so far away
so far away is your dwelling now
You can’t struggle your way towards it
your fairytale

夢に見た永遠は
閉ざされたままで
過ちは深く
隠されたままで
消えていく帰り道
君がもう見えない
……さよなら
Yume ni mita eien wa
tozasareta mama de
Ayamachi wa fukaku
kakusareta mama de
Kiete yuku kaerimichi
Kimi ga mou mienai
Sayonara
With the eternity we dreamed of
still locked away
with our flaws
still deeply hidden
you’re already invisible
as the road back home is vanishing
…goodbye
霧の森を抜けて
君は何処へ行く
一つだけ手を振って
明日へ去って行く
Kiri no mori wo nukete (santida)
Kimi wa doko e yuku (stordiya)
Hitotsu dake te wo futte (santida)
Asu e satteyuku (stordiya)
where are you going (santida)
coming from the misty forest? (stordiya)
waving a hand at me (santida)
you pass away towards tomorrow (stordiya)
君を好きになって
永遠は終わる
生きて行く喜びと
痛みが始まる
in the light
Kimi wo suki ni natte (santida)
eien wa owaru (stordiya)
ikiteyuku yorokobi to (santida)
itami ga hajimaru (stordiya)
in the light
Now that I came to like you (santida)
the eternity is over (stordiya)
the joy and pain on staying alive (santida)
begins now (stordiya)
in the light

May I start doing corrections here? 🙂

Romaji correction: Wakakusa means young herb, iro means color, I woulsn’t split it at “wakaku sairo”, I’d wrote “wakakusairo” (which risks being tl;dr), or “wakakusa iro”

As a result of the above, I think you’d better translate it as “color of young herbs” (fixing up the syntax)… it stands for the sadness of a young child (“young herb”), as it comes up in memories, and “bright green” doesn’t make that connection. 🙂

“Nanimo owaru koto no nai eien wo shitteita” – “I knew an eternity where nothing would ever end”. Shitteita = I knew, translating that as “I had known there’d be” is a bit overkill, and loses the meaning of the young child’s innocence and eternity…

“Zutto tooku he aruiteku natsukashii omokage”, I understand it as meaning “your dear face is walking so far away”, so then “tadoritsuke wa shinai” should be “you can’t struggle your way towards it” – the whole song talks about the other person leaving, not the singer… so it makes less sense to talk about following the other person.

Then you leave “mama de” untranslated (hon-yaku shinai mama de! :p) I’d translate it as “with the eternity we dreamed of still locked away, with our faults still deeply hidden”

Then it might be simpler to separate the two following phrases: “the road back home is vanishing, you’re already invisible”

Then the last part, I’d rephrase it a bit with a slightly different grammar:

“Now that I came to like you, the eternity is over, the joy and pain of staying alive begin now” (another reference to that lost innocence)

…okay, back to work… trying to fight my headache 🙁

    Oops, I missed one…

“Mou daremo kataranai futari no monogatari”, I’d write that as “nobody tells the story of the two of us anymore”

Sorry for the long corrections again m(_ _)m , but I have to admit that most of them are just minor fixes and nothing that really changes the meaning!

  3. I am actually thankful to the holder of this site who has shared this impressive paragraph at here.

  6. sam says:

Shouldn’t the TYPE-MOON concert that was released as bluray/dvd be listed in “Appearances”?

  7. mjphantomhive says:

i always play this song and i always hear the kajiurago”santida” as “santima” and when i watch the pv, Hikaru said “santiMa” not “santiDa”…or maybe it’s only my imagination? i don’t know….
