Kajiura on Twitter Q&A Session

Posted , Updated

Yuki Kajiura will be hosting a Q&A Session this Friday in celebration of the release of The Works for Soundtrack. It’s a rare chance for you to ask a question to her directly and have it answered! She will be answering questions about herself and about the newly released album, with a few guidelines:

  1. Keep your questions short and simple (Twitter-sized!).
  2. Refer to the album as “WFS“, and use hashtag #kajiwfs
  3. Avoid asking questions about the vocalists (FJ, Kalafina, etc), and about songs not on the album
  4. She will accept questions in English, but will provide answers in Japanese

Yuki sounds a little anxious about the volume of questions to be received, so I would also suggest that before asking, make sure your question hasn’t already been answered in a previous interview! An (incomplete) list of interviews can be viewed here. If you are still unsure, fans in this thread should be able to review your question and let you know! You can also take a look at questions other fans are preparing to ask.

To send Yuki a question, sent a tweet to @Fion0806, and end it with #kajiwfs at the time of the Q&A session:

Friday Dec 17 2010, 22:00 – 24:00 Japanese time (UTC+9).
Do not tweet her early! She may not see it.

If you want to send in your question early, you can use the mail form on her site, making sure to include your twitter username if you have one.

We will do our best to provide a complete translation of the interview as soon as possible!

Official announcement at www.fictionjunction.com.
Thanks to yuki.n and kurobara for translation of the details!

The official site of the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica just updated with a redesign. It now contains a video page with a new CM of the anime, featuring all four girls accompanied by background music samples of first, the OP song 「Connect」 performed by ClariS, and secondly the ED song, 「Magia」 performed by Kalafina. You can watch it by clicking here (CM8).
Note: It loads slowly so be patient!

Furthermore, both the Kalafina, and the Madoka sites have officially confirmed Kalafina’s Magia single release, which is set for February 16, 2011.

You can listen to the rip of the sample that’s featured in the video here (if the video doesn’t load for you).

Historia OST 2, and a bit of Kalafina

Posted , Updated

A few things to announce today!

First of all, Yuki Kajiura has confirmed on Twitter that she is in the progress of recording the second OST for Rekishi Hiwa Historia! No details on release date yet. The first soundtrack for the NHK show was released in August 2009 and is my favorite of her recent soundtracks so check it out if you haven’t already done so!

Next item on the list: A 2011 Kalafina CD Calendar is printing this month! We don’t normally make announcements on merchandise because most of them can only be bought at concerts or from space craft’s site (which doesn’t ship internationally), but this time it’s an exception because it can be purchased at CDJapan! The CD-sized mini-calendar has 12 months and the preorder deadline is December 6th. This is a good opportunity to order it together with Yuki Kajiura’s The Works for Soundtrack set for release on the 8th! You can get a 500-yen discount using the code winter2010 at checkout (for purchases over 3000 yen).

Now, onto Puella Magi Madoka Magica! As you may know, Yuki Kajiura will be composing the soundtrack for the magical girl anime. Its premiere been announced for January 6, 2011. Three more character trailers have been released and can be viewed here, here and here. In addition, there are unconfirmed rumors that Kalafina will be doing the opening theme, for release in February as a single titled Magia.
