Oblivious PV Preview?

Posted , Updated

There is a short video clip for “Oblivious” at Sony’s Kalafina site, with new views of the Kalafina girls and some pretty animations. The video is 30 seconds long, and pans through near-still images of the vocalists with “Oblivious” playing in the background. Not sure if this is a preview of the full PV, or just a video promoting the single released earlier this year (as the main themes for the first three out of seven installments of Kara no Kyoukai). Thanks again to the amazing J. Uzuki for the discovery!

Click on the TV icon next to “Oblivious” to watch the video in a popup. I haven’t been able to open it with Firefox, but it works in IE.

Yuki Composing Amatsuki ED for Kaori Hikita

Posted , Updated

J. Uzuki posted some exciting news in the forum today; Yuki Kajiura is going to be composing the ending theme for Amatsuki, a 13-episode anime set to begin in April of this year, airing late nights on 7 channels across Japan. The song will be titled “名まえのない道” (Namae no Nai Michi), and performed by Kaori Hikita, whom we had heard before in Yuki’s “Michiyuki” (Loveless ED), and “Egao no Wake” (Shounen Onmyouji OP). The lyrics will be written by Yuho Iwasato, who usually writes lyrics for Yoko Kanno. The song will be arranged by Masayuki Sakamoto, who also arranged Michiyuki and the Romeo x Juliet OP, both of which sounded amazing. This is really something to look forward to 😀

FictionJunction KAORI to sing Hokuto no Ken: Toki Den ED

Posted , Updated

Yuki made two massive posts today, the first regarding her gardening (with pictures of a beautiful amaryllis :D), and the second announcing that FictionJunction KAORI will be singing the ending theme for the Hokuto no Ken: Toki Den OVA (Fist of the North Star: the Legend of Toki), titled “花守の丘” (Hanamori no Oka). We have heard FJKaori before, in Dream Scape from Tsubasa Chronicle Future Soundscape III, and in “Calling”, the Baccano! ED. The DVD will be released on March 6, 2008. As we know from before, Yuki Kajiura will be doing the rest of the soundtrack, for which a release date has not yet been announced.

You can hear a sample of the song at the Hokuto no Ken Website or click the player below.

Spring is arriving in Tokyo… we wish Yuki the best of luck in the war against allergies!

FictionJunction UKATSU

Posted , Updated

In Yuki’s post on February 16, she mentions “FictionJunction UKATSU”, a name we’ve never seen before! 😀 However, she doesn’t talk much about UKATSU, and instead focuses on how fragile the MacBook Air is.

In other news, she has ordered a new 8gb iPod nano, and likes the MacBook Air, but didn’t buy one. Her next single will be the last Mahou Sensei Negima TV Drama (live action) ending theme (KICM-3166), sung by Sara Wakatsuki and Mihoko Kondo who play Asuna and Kazumi. The single will be released on March 26, 2008.

[EDIT]ROFL okay so we just got PWNED. Ukatsu no exist. Ukatsu mean mistake. I hope you guys at 2ch.net had a good laugh 😉 I suspected the announcement of a new singer wouldn’t be so subtle >_<

Shibuya O-WEST Concert Updates

Posted , Updated

In a new post, Yuki Kajiura gave details of the April 5 2008 concert at Shibuya O-WEST.

The event will be called Yuki Kajiura LIVE VOL#1, and include vocalists Yuriko Kaida, KAORI, KEIKO, and WAKANA. The latter three have worked in the FictionJunction project, and performed songs in Tsubasa Chronicle and the new Hokuto no Ken. Yuriko Kaida has been working with Yuki for a very long time, usually in the chorus for FictionJunction, and was the main vocalist on the Noir OST. Yuki also says that we can expect more independent live performances from her in the future, and that this is the beginning of a long series.

Date: Saturday April 5, 2008
Time: 18:00, doors open at 17:30
Location: Shibuya O-WEST, in Tokyo, Japan
Admission: ¥3,500 in advance, ¥4,000 at the door

Ticket sales begin Saturday, February 23, 2008, and can be purchased from e-plus, Lawson Ticket, Ticketopia, and at O-WEST.

At the end of the post, Yuki included an example of the awesome conversations in Kajiuran that will occur between her (as the MC), and her singers during the show:
Yuki Kajiura: ASOREVIIDA? RIITA? SAMANNAARIIA?”
Vocalists: “SARIITA! RIIDA! YANMAAYANMAA!”

(She then says that was a joke, it won’t actually happen. I wouldn’t mind if it did though :D)
Hahahaha Yuki you are so cute!! <3
