PonyCanyon today published a new PV for the DEEMO movie on Youtube, that includes sample of the theme song nocturne written by Yuki Kajiura and sang by the audition winner Hinano Takashima. (sample is between 0:24- 0:37 on the video below)

Hinano (her actual artist name) will release (1, 2, 3) her first EP, titled nocturne and containing apart from the new song, 7 other DEEMO-related songs performed by her. The EP will be released on February 23, 2022, 2 days before the DEEMO movie premiers on Japanese theaters (February 25, 2022).

The Vanitas anime website has updated with information about the standalone Original Soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura!

The soundtrack will come out on February 23, 2022, in 2 Discs and feature the music for both cours of the anime, will be priced at 3850Yen, will have illustration by the author Jun Mochizuki, and a booklet. The 2nd cour will start airing on January 14 on Japanese TV channels. There is also a short PV released, and 5 more will come out until the broadcast starts.

[Update] Rest of small PVs: #2, #3, #4, #5, #6

Y.Kajiura (1) and Highway Star (1) announced that they will hold an audition for a new vocalist that will participate in a new FictionJunction Album that will be released on 2022!

Below are the details of the audition:
Eligibility

• Female, up to 28 years old
• No experience necessary.
• Applicants must be able to participate in both the live and studio judging.
• Applicants perform at least one assigned song and one free song during the audition
• Applicants must not be under contract with any specific production, management, record company, or music publishing company.
• Winner will sign contract with Highway Star
• A letter of permission from a parent or guardian is required for applications from minors.

Screening Schedule

• Application period: December 10, 2021 (Fri.) – January 10, 2022 (Mon., holiday)
• Only successful applicants will be contacted by January 15 (Sat).
• The second screening (at a live house in Tokyo) will be held on January 23 (Sun.) in Tokyo (tentative).
• If you are unable to attend due to some reason on the day of the screening, you will be able to participate remotely via ZOOM.

• The third round of judging (at a recording studio in Tokyo) will be held on February 5 and 6 in Tokyo (tentative)
• Ms. Kajiura will be one of the judges.
• Announcement of the winners will be made on the official website in late February.
• The above schedule is subject to change depending on the number of applicants and the number of people selected.
• Please note that there may be no winners.

In other news, Sword Art Online Progressive movie sequel was announced on Oct 29 2021, for 2022, that will apparently skip a few novel volumers (1)

Few days later, on  Nov 17 , the official website for the Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files TV anime announced that a OVA special edition episode will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV on December 31, 2021. Apparently a younger Touko Aozaki from Kara no Kyoukai is seen in the new key visual.

On the 12th and final episode of Fena: Pirate Princess / Kaijoku Oujo a new Ending Theme song by JUNNA composed by Yuki Kajiura appears, titled 太陽の航路 (Taiyou no Kouro = Route of the Sun). Its still unknown how the song will be released (single/album/ part of the soundtrack?)

In other news, according to ANN and the Deemo film website:

– The film’s theme song by Yuki Kajiura (the japanese version) will be titled Yubikiri-Genman nocturne and will be performed by the audition winner Hinano Takashima. (Do remember that the kajiurago version, that was used during promos and as sample during the audition, was titled inside a dream  and performed by Joelle)

– The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on February 25, 2022 and will be screened in Shinjuku Wald 9 and other locations throughout Japan.

Update 15/12/21: The DEEMO song by Kajiura isnt titled Yubikiri Genman but nocturne. ANN’s page was apparently missleading.

FlyingDog has announced the release of the Fena Pirate Princess / Kaizoku Oujo Original Soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura! It will be released on December 8, 2021, containing 40 BGMs along with the theme (?). This is the first Soundtrack of Yuki Kajiura released by Flying Dog  since Pandora Hearts OSTs back in 2009!
