I wonder what the new verse is that YK composed for the live performance of this song. It actually sounds like the “Christe Eleison” verse from Salva Nos fiction ver. I dont think that’s it, though, but i really wonder what it is
You are right Tarryl, they sing in the live performances “Kyrie Eleison, Hosanna Amen; O Christe Eleison…” in some parts of this song “Open your Heart”. Later when they sing the second time they say “Kyrie Eleison, Hosanna in Excelsis; O Christe Eleison…” If this song was good by its lyrics by itself, with this prayer, it got better.
O Christe Eleison = O Christ, have mercy
Kyrie Eleison,
Hosanna in Excelsis
O Lord, have mercy,
Hosanna in the highest (literally in high places)
Antonio — I’m just now coming back to this page 4 years later and seeing your response after once again wondering the same thing about the background lyrics to this song and finally seeing your answer. HA! Thanks for the response, i LOVE that she put that Latin into it, it’s very beautiful
One more question:
If you cut to the Kaji Fest Live version of this song (from the Best of FJ 2010-2013) and listen to REMI (i believe?) sing the Latin part starting at 03:21 there is one more word sung after the final line:
“O Christe Eleison ____” sounds like “Matelo?” Any ideas?
Aerterna…
I think.
There is definitely an extra word after ‘Eleison’ and it sounds more like an M sound rather than “Aeterna”, but it’s still a possibility.
If anyone knows what is sung after ‘O Christe Eleison’ please help us!
As someone who grew up in a very traumatizing environment as a child, I clung onto .hack//SIGN when I bumped into the series at the age of 7. I have to give credit to Yuki Kajiura for composing very powerful healing and affirming musical pieces. Since the age of 7 (I’m now 22) the OST that Kajiura composed for the series is something that grounds me and is something that I always come back to.
She is one of the reasons as to why I pursued classical guitar and my other creative endeavors and her work is what got me through a turbulent undergraduate career. I am forever thankful to her for her beautiful musical pieces.
