tamashii no hanashi wo kikasete yo hitomi wo sorasazu mitsumete yo anata wa watashi ga doko nimo inai to omotteru |
Tell me the story of your soul. Look at me without turning your eyes away. You’re thinking I exist nowhere. |
mienai basho made hashiru nara iranai kazari wa furisutete kokoro wo mukidashi ni shitemo nimotsu wa omosugiru no |
If you run to an unseen place, leaving behind unnecessary decorations, even with a frank heart, the burden’s too heavy. |
fukeba tobu yona yume dake ga futari wo musunderu |
Only the dream that flies when blown links the two of us. |
subete wo miseru hoshi no michibiki ni somuite massugu ni kakeagaru sora ni aru tobira e doko made mo watashi wa yuku no |
Go against the guidance of the all-showing star, and run straight ahead towards the door in the sky. I’ll go anywhere. |
hanabira no kiiroi sabishisa wo futatsu no kokoro de nameaeba anata wa kodoku ga koko kara kieru to omotteru |
If the petal’s yellow loneliness can taste two hearts I think your solitude will disappear from then on. |

More than the desired comfort just now More than the dried-out fake smiles I’m thinking that I want to see the truth of you. |
subete wo miseru hoshi no michibiku yasashii ashita sore yori akarui mirai e to yuku kara |
Because, brighter than the gentle tomorrows we’re guided to by all-showing stars, We’re going to a brilliant future… |

Tell me the story of your soul. Look at me without turning your eyes away. I wonder how far the two of us will go, not looking back at the petals’ yellow loneliness? |

Go against the guidance of the all-showing star, and run straight ahead towards the door in the sky, Rebel against the fate that smiles so gently. If there is courage in you to find me, then I will be everywhere. |

unmei ni somuite namida wo chirashi te
‘unmei’ should be ‘sadame’
what says in the part
“fukeba tobu yona yume dake ga
futari wo musunderu”
in second voice?? i only understand “angel” hahaha….
I think she says: “Someday, somewhere, anytime, anyplace.” And then I don’t know… but seems “You don’t make her … angel!” Ahahah!! I don’t understand the part between “her” and “angel”, sorry. xD
It says : “Somewhere, someway, anytime, anyplace.” and “In the night I’m holding any chase.” I played the song over and over again and i think that is what I hear 🙂
Woh, thank you. 🙂 Now sounds better! Wahahah! xD
Thank you Alessia and xGracie!!!
look for the Kalafina´s version!!! It´s so great… for the animax musix fall!!!
I think the line is supposed to be “into the land of fallen angels”.
unmei ni somuite namida wo chirashi te “unmei” should be “sadame”
im sure 95% this is the right lyrics hehe
someday, somewhere, anytime, anyplace
in the land of faulty angel
I think we will never know the right lyrics! Ahahah!! 😀
To see which one is the most correct, someone (or Next time) when some of you meet Yuki-sama please ask about this XD
in the night of melody angel!!!
what backing vocal says in the part “subete wo miseru hoshi no…yuku kara”?
After listening to Fictionjunction YUUKA’s live version many times (look for it! it has an awesome violin accompaniment!) and comparing to the original version from Madlax, I’m pretty sure that xGracie had the background lyrics right or nearly right:
“Someday, somewhere, anytime, anyplace”
“In the night, I’m holding any chase” OR “In the night, I’m holding angels”
It’s hard to tell whether the chorus is saying “any chase” or “angels”.
I’m not even going to try understanding the other background lyrics though…
Hey guys I know those lyrics:
someday somewhere anytime anyplace
you don’t make her on your dream and change
(it should mean: you don’t make a dream out of her and give up)
A very daring song if I may add. btw my favorite and anime too 🙂
A friend of my told me to never let a woman change who I am.
If anything is better to change is the world not you.
It’s the worse to think that you are wrong.
Some life philosophy 😀
I really like this anime and this song. If Madlax was a real girl I’d become president of Gazath-sonika and marry her. And triple-speed would get retired 😀
No war and peace for all!

It’s ‘someday somebody anytime anyplace’ and ‘in the land of holy angels’ imo.
Judging from Kalafina’s live version, I’d say “in the night of holy angels”.
I don’t want this to sound rude, but since I’m not the biggest fan of Yuuka I usually stick to learning the harmony and background of FJY work, and I’m surprised that the Kajiurago isn’t included in the lyrics.
Judging from the live version I usually watch (YUUKA, Hikaru and Miss Kaida), I’ve heard this, repeated both during the verses and after the chorus:
“Yannga ii yannga ii
Yannga ii ahi ya
Yannga ii yannga ii
Yannga ii ahi ya”
Even though it might be complicated to put this in with the lyrics, I think someone should because on this website, it’s treated just as importantly as the “definite” language lyrics! Also, maybe it’ll push people into also covering the background vocals (because I would, though I assume they come in the official instrumental).
Note: Although in the studio version it’s much closer to “yamma ii”, during the live version of the song, neither Yuki, Hikaru or Miss Kaida close their mouth while singing it.
When you hear that music, you’re going nowhere.
