Title: 「むすんでひらく」 = Musunde Hiraku

Kanji Romaji English
tenohira no kubomi ni
kimi ga kureta mono o
mada zenbu noseta mama de
saigo no eki o mou
sugita hazu no
sabita reeru o tadotte
still holding onto the things
that you gave me in the hollows
of my palms,
i follow the rusted rail
of the last station
i have already passed through
kimi to boku ga deau koto ga
yumemite ita
mirai no subete to omotte ita
i was imagining a future
where we met by chance that
i had dreamt about
kasaneta yubi to yubi ga
sukitooru kara
bokura wa kokoro o
musunda
kimi ga naite ita no wa
yawarakai kako
kienai tsunagari no ongaku
hitori ja nai
to hajimete shitta
hitomi o hiraita
since our fingers that
are on top of one another
will become transparent,
we bound our hearts together.
you were crying due a tender past;
hearing the music of
our infinite connection,
“i am not alone” we thought
for the first time
so we opened our eyes
daiji na oto ga aru
mune no naka no
hosoi ito ni sawaranai you ni
erabareta kioku no
iro no nai enogu de
kimi no e o egaita
ano natsu no hi
hikari no irie de
in order not to touch the fine thread
within our hearts
that contain precious sounds,
you painted a picture
with colorless paints
of memories you have chosen
at a bay of light
during that summer day
[soonte lio adola]
nidoto ikenai
basho de
machiukete iru
yakusoku wa mada
zutto mamorareta mama
kaze ni yureru kozue o
tada yasashiku
sasaete iru

[soonte lio adola]

a promise that is
awaiting in a place
where we can
never go again
will always remain protected
it so gently supports
the treetops that
shake in the wind

[soonte lio adola]

[teesta lio fia]
[teesta lio fia]
mirai wa tsudzuku
ame o matsu haiiro no oka de [fia]
kimi wa dare to deai
boku wa dare o omou
atatakai kaze o yobinagara
[teesta lio fia]
the future continues on;
while the warm wind calls out to us [fia]
at an ashen hill that awaits rain
who will you meet?
who will i think of?
puranetariumu no sora
kurayami o matsu
tsugi hagi no
kabe o sarashite
tojikomerareta
basho de hajimete hikaru
bokutachi o ugokasu dainamo
iki o hisometa
yume no katamari
musunde hiraku yo
the planetarium’s sky
awaits the darkness
an assortment of walls will be exposed
and the place where
it’s imprisoned will
shine for the first time.
dynamos that move us
and the clusters of dreams
that hide our breath
will bind and spread out
mizuumi no soko ni wa
natsu no aoi
ame no shizuku ga
ima mo shizumu
tsumetai mono dake
o tabete sodatsu
boku no yawarakai kokoro
mata hana saku
toki ga kuru yo
drops of the blue summer rain
immediately sinks
towards the bottom
of lakes
the time will surely come
when our tender hearts
that have been raised
to take in only cold things
will once again bloom

kanji from CD booklet, translation by nimsaj and yuki.n, romaji by magicmagiamahou, kajiurago from official “far on the water” vocal score.

Translator note:
There are some meanings behind the song’s title:
1) There is a children’s song called “musunde hiraite”
2) The meaning behind “tying a knot and opening” is this (wedding invitation). So its refering to the “red string of fate” (often seen in Japanese culture) that’s tied in this case.
