Title:
「暁の車」 “Wheels of the Dawn”
Kanji | Romaji | English |
---|---|---|
風さそう木陰に俯せて泣いてる 見も知らぬ私を私が見ていた 逝く人の調べを奏でるギターラ 来ぬ人の嘆きに星は落ちて |
Kazesasou kokage ni utsubusete naiteru Mi mo shiranu watashi wo watashi ga miteita Yuku hito no shirabe wo kanaderu GITAARA Konu hito no nageki ni hoshi ga ochite |
The wind invites me to the shadow of the trees, I’m lying face down and crying I was looking at myself without even knowing my body A guitar plays the melody of the person who parted A star falls for the grief of those who won’t come back |
行かないで、どんなに叫んでも オレンジの花びら静かに揺れるだけ やわらかな額に残された 手のひらの記憶遥か とこしえのさよならつま弾く |
Yukanaide, donna ni sakende mo ORENJI no hanabira shizuka ni yureru dake Yawarakana hitai ni nokosareta Te no hira no kioku haruka Tokoshie no sayonara tsuma hiku |
“Don’t go”, no matter how much I cry out All that happens is that orange flower petals shake quietly Left on my soft forehead, the memory of a hand distantly strums the eternal goodbye |
優しい手にすがる子供の心を 燃えさかる車輪は振り払い進む 逝く人の嘆きを奏でてギターラ 胸の糸激しく掻き鳴らして |
Yasashii te ni sugaru kodomo no kokoro wo Moesakaru kuruma ha furiharai susumu Yuku hito no nageki wo kanadete GITAARA Mune no ito hageshiku kakinarashite |
A child’s heart clinging to a kind hand The blazing wheel shakes it away and advances The guitar that plays the grief of those who part Is strumming violently the string of my chest |
悲しみに染まらない白さで オレンジの花びら揺れてた夏の影に やわらかな額を失くしても 赤く染めた砂遥か越えて行く さよならのリズム |
Aa kanashimi ni somaranai shirosa de ORENJI no hanabira yureteta natsu no kage ni Yawarakana hitai wo nakushite mo Akaku someta suna haruka koete yuku Sayonara no RIZUMU |
With a whiteness unstained by sadness, The orange flower petals were shaking in the shadow of the summer Even though I lost my soft forehead The rhythm of goodbye is distantly crossing the red-stained sand |
思い出を焼き尽くして進む大地に 懐かしく芽吹いて行くものがあるの |
Omoide wo yakitsukushite susumu daichi ni Natsukashiku me fuite yuku mono ga aru no |
On this earth, that burns down memories and advances, Are there things that blossom dearly? |
暁の車を見送って オレンジの花びら揺れてる今も何処か いつか見た安らかな夜明けを もう一度手にするまで 消さないで灯火 車輪は廻るよ |
Akatsuki no kuruma wo miokutte ORENJI no hanabira yureteru ima mo dokoka Itsuka mita yasurakana yoake wo Mou ichido te ni suru made Kesanaide tomoshibi Kuruma wa mawaru yo |
I wave off the vessel of dawn Orange flower petals are shaking somewhere even now That peaceful dawn that I once saw Until I can take it in my hand again, The wheel is turning Without turning off the lamp |
Kanji and romaji from gendou
Translation by Yuki_n
I think in the first part, “uchide” is missing…
it should be Konu hito no nageki ni hoshi ga “uchide” ?
Fixed the missing word!
I think It’s not orange flower petals shake quietly It shoulde be orange flowers shake quietly
Chihiro Yonekura Akatsuki no Kuruma
Hikaru sang chorus in live ^^
@Ece : Hanabira is flower petals. Flower = Hana.
Also appears on Animelo Summer Live 2009 day 2 Blu-ray / DVD;
and Yuuka Nanri’s: 南里侑香 “LIVE ON!” 赤坂BLITZ 2012.10.13 Full Collection [Blu-ray+CD].
Do we want to mention the Platina Jazz cover as well?
I’m a noob at Japanese, but wouldn’t
“Akatsuki no kuruma wo miokutte
ORENJI no hanabira
yureteru ima mo dokoka”
more probably translate to “even now, orange petals are shaking while seeing off the wheel of dawn” (or could it be the dawn chariot from european mythology?)?
I think the -te form can be used like this and it makes more sense to me. Could be wrong though.
I am pretty sure the first stanza’s translation is wrong.
The first two lines are a single sentence, with its main subject, object and verb being 「私を私が見ていた」 (I was watching myself)
The rest is the descriptor for the first 「私」: What sort of “Myself” was I watching? The “Myself” which was crying, while lying face-down in the wind-inviting shade of the trees (because 「風さそう木陰」is a single phrase as well), which I also have never even seen before.
“I was looking at an unknown myself, crying while lying face-down in the wind-inviting shade of a tree”
It’s an absolute monster of a sentence, and I don’t know if there’s any way of expressing it without it sounding clunky at best.
