The Kalafina official site just announced the 10th single of Kalafina titled 『to the beginning』 ! The title song is going to be used as Fate/Zero’s Opening Theme 2. The single will be released on April 18, 2012. This makes Fate/Zero the first anime since Madlax where Yuki Kajiura does both OP and ED. (Since she will also compose the ED2 of the anime for Haruna Luna).

This time there will be 4 editions of the single:

Kalafina will be visiting Bonn, Germany this summer, for the AnimagiC convention on July 27-29! Kalafina will be giving two concerts – one on the Friday, and one on Saturday. Also visiting is Atsuhiro Iwakami, the producer of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, and Kara no Kyoukai. So far there aren’t any details on whether Yuki Kajiura will be there, any autograph sessions, or whether the two concerts will have different set lists. We’ll keep you all updated on any news we get!

This will be Kalafina’s first visit to Europe, and is sure to attract lots of fans. Give us a shout here or in the forum if you plan on attending, and make sure to report your experience!

[update 2]For some reason the Kalafina page has been deleted from the AnimagiC site. This could mean either cancellation of the event, or that it was prematurely announced by accident. We will be contacting AnimaniA regarding this issue and will report back soon.

[update 3] The event has been re-announced on their main site again! In addition, the Kalafina Blog has now confirmed it too 😀

Today, it was announced by the FictionJunction CLUB official site, and also via Yuki Kajiura’s twitter that, to commemorate the club’s third anniversary, they will release a single exclusively for the club’s members. The single’s title track is “sing a song“, the theme song of the club, and the c/w “silent moon“, an acapella song originating from Yuki’s amateur days with Chiaki, before officially becoming See-Saw! Both songs are expected to be performed by the FictionJunction and Kalafina singers.

More information about the single, like the release date, the product code and the recording label will be released in March’s FJC newsletter. Please note that in order to join the FictionJunction club, you must have a Japanese mailing address. Alternatively, you can employ one of several Japanese fan club services (e.g. mukunoki) to redirect the mail for a price that is unfortunately more than double the cost of actual club membership T_T.

According to excite anime, a new singer with Sony Music named Haruna Luna will be performing the 2nd Ending Theme of Fate/Zero (featured in the continuation of the anime this Spring), which will be composed by Yuki Kajiura!. The title of the song is not announced yet however.

Haruna Luna is also a model for the fashion magazine “KERA” (which often features Keiko of Kalafina/FJ too), and drew public attention as a finalist for the fourth Anime Song Grand Prix of Japan. Kajiura has reportedly praised her voice for its sense of presence. For more info, visit her official site, or her page on spacecraft.

A quick reminder for those who plan on ordering the new Kalafina DVD from CDJapan, it’s a good idea to do it before January 31, 2012!
