English

anata dake ni aitakute imademo zutto
ame no hi ni wa omoidasu negai hitotsu dake

I still want to see only you
On rainy days, I remember my one desire

anata no mune ni wasureta
watashi no kakera
mada soko ni aru?

The piece of myself
I left in your heart
Is it still there?

tojita honno naka nemutteru
omoide to iu na no PANDORA no houseki
toiki shinobaseta tameraide
itsumademo miteita
here in the rain

Sleeping inside a closed book
Are Pandora’s gems called memories
I have forever watched them with a hesitation
That held my breath
Here in the rain

kinou chitta hanabira wo oshinde naita
anata no koto sukoshizutsu wasurete ikuyou de

I cried yesterday, feeling sorry for the petals that fell
It was like forgetting you little by little as I go

watashi wa anata no kakera
anata no mune e kaeritai dake

I am a piece of you
I just want to return to your heart

kake ochita watashi no hitomi wa
mikazuki no katachi ni kowareta KUOOTSU
hikari mitasu no wa anata dake
itsumademo matteru
here in the rain

My broken, fallen eyes
Are quartz broken as a crescent moon
You alone fill them with light
I am forever waiting for you
Here in the rain

anata ni tada aitakute…

I just want to see you……

tojita honno naka nemutteru
omoide to iu na no PANDORA no houseki
toiki shinobaseta tameraide
itsumademo miteita

Sleeping inside a closed book
Are Pandora’s gems called memories
I have forever watched them with a hesitation
That held my breath

kake ochita watashi no hitomi wa
mikazuki no katachi ni kowareta QUOOTSU
mune wo mitasu no wa anata dake
itsumademo matteru
here in the rain

My fallen eyes
Are quartz broken as a crescent moon
You alone fill my heart
I am forever waiting for you
Here in the rain

kakera wo sagashite

  1. Daichi Says:

“itsumademo miteita” means “I’ll forever wait for you”, right? Not “that held my breath”
“toiki shinobaseta tameraide” means something along the line of “I was always watching them from afar”, right?

And don’t even let me get started on the “kake ochita watashi no hitomi wa
mikazuki no katachi ni kowareta QUOOTSU” part…

    My broken, fallen eyes
Are quartz broken as a crescent moon ? Wait, what?

it should read “A piece of my eye has broken/fallen off, in the form of a quarts shaped like the crescent moon”?

    Oh, well…. Dots out!

This is quite late, but…sorry, Daichi, I’m afraid you’re not quite right on all that.

The two lines of “toiki shinobaseta tameraide/ itsumademo miteita” have been reversed in the translation. The first part means “hesitation that held my breath” and the second means “I was forever watching”. So it can indeed be “I have forever watched them with a hesitation/ That held my breath”.

“Kake ochita watashi no hitomi wa/ mikazuki no katachi ni kowareta QUOOTSU” means “my eyes that fell and broke are quartz that broke into the shape of a crescent moon”. The translation above might be a little more awkward sounding, but it’s also correct.
